Upper Elementary

Our Upper Elementary program (grades 4–5) supports students as they grow into confident, capable leaders—academically, spiritually, and socially. 

Rooted in a Christian Montessori philosophy, this stage is designed to meet students’ increasing need for independence, deeper thinking, and real-world application of knowledge.

A Time of Maturity, Leadership, and Deeper Learning

Upper Elementary students are ready for new levels of responsibility and self-direction. They begin to manage their time more independently, engage in rich academic discussions, and collaborate through small-group and project-based learning. Our teachers guide students toward critical thinking, public speaking, and confident self-expression as they grow in both knowledge and character.

A Faith-Filled, Hands-On, Nature-Rich Education

Students in our Upper Elementary program benefit from a dynamic curriculum that includes:

• Bible study, generosity curriculum, character building focus and service opportunities
  
• Advanced Montessori-based instruction in math, geometry, language arts, and grammar

   

• History and Literature: Cycles of history and rich literature from Creation to Medieval times and the Middle Ages, including stories of King Arthur and other legendary figures!
   
• Science: Studies of energy, matter, astronomy, zoology, botany, and ecology with hands-on experiments and field experiences
   
• Geography: From exploration of the Earth’s lithosphere to focused continent studies
   
• Enrichment classes, such as art, music, Spanish, and PE (offerings vary by year)
   
• Outdoor learning and nature journaling, helping students make meaningful connections between their studies and the world around them
