Continuous Enrollment
At Oak City Academy, we use a Continuous Enrollment model, which means that once you’ve signed your child’s Enrollment Agreement, they are considered enrolled each year through graduation—unless you notify us otherwise. This approach eliminates the need for annual re-enrollment and simplifies the process for families.
Each winter, your child’s enrollment for the upcoming school year is automatically renewed, and your Enrollment Fee is processed in late December. If your family does not plan to return, an Intent to Withdraw Form must be submitted by the opt-out deadline in order to avoid being charged the fee and entering into the next year’s Enrollment Contract.
To help families make informed decisions, tuition rates for the upcoming year are posted on our website in November, prior to the opt-out deadline. We also require families to participate in our annual State of the School meeting or video presentation. This important update includes tuition changes, policy updates, upcoming grade-level or facility expansions, and other key information related to Continuous Enrollment.
If your child is being considered for retention or may benefit from repeating a grade, their teacher will initiate a meeting with you in collaboration with our Dean of Faculty/Academics. You’re also welcome to reach out directly to the Dean if you have questions or would like to begin this conversation. Additional details related to Continuous Enrollment will be shared with you at that time.
If you’re unsure about your plans for the following school year, we encourage you to go ahead and submit the Intent to Withdraw Form by the opt-out date. You are always welcome to re-enroll later if space is available. Families returning after opting out will not need to submit a new application, but may be subject to late enrollment fees.
Please note that Continuous Enrollment does not guarantee a permanent seat regardless of circumstances. Oak City Academy reserves the right to withdraw a student at any time due to academic or behavioral concerns, lack of alignment with the school’s mission or policies outlined in the Enrollment Contract, or unresolved financial obligations.
We believe Continuous Enrollment honors our partnership with families and allows us all to focus more on your child’s growth, learning, and community experience—and less on paperwork.
