Community Service
At Oak City Academy, our students grow as kingdom-hearted learners—cultivating compassion, generosity, and a desire to serve others. Each year, students participate in justice projects that reflect Christ’s love in action, engaging with needs in our local community, our nation, and around the world.
Past projects have included:
-
Serving at the Community of Hope Food Pantry
-
Serving at With Love for Jesus
-
Collecting and distributing donations to hurricane victims in Western NC
-
Packing boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child
-
Caroling at local nursing homes to bring joy and encouragement
-
Making and distributing winter care bags to the homeless
-
Organizing diapers for newborn babies sent to a local pregnancy center ministry
-
Partnering with the Lt. Governor and his team to create homemade cards for military families separated at Christmas
-
Planning games and visits at a local adult day care center
-
Partnering with Hope International to fund micro-loans, job training, and sustainable support for families in underserved global communities
Through these initiatives, our students learn to live generously and pursue justice—not as a one-time project, but as part of their calling to love and serve well.
